ASSOCIATED THEORIES
- Some associated theories with social media expectations may include brand models being too skinny, fat shaming, people buying fake brands to look rich, and plastic surgeries. These are associated with this topic because this is a lot of what is going on in order to achieve that certain look adolescence want.
- Many young girls look up to famous models that are actually an unhealthy weight, but because the model gets so many likes and comments and are adored by others, girls want to be their size.
-The picture to the right shows a model who looks as if she hasn't ate in days. It is as if society is idolizing anorexia.
- Many people use fat shaming to make them feel better about their weight which is tearing the female community apart. All women should be supporting each other not bashing others for their weight.
- One thing that is popular to do right now is to buy a knockoff brand of a famous company for example Gucci, to make it look like you can afford it like famous singers can even though you really can't. It takes away from who you are and turns you into a person that just wants to be another person.
Plastic surgery is highly correlated with unrealistic expectations at this time in our world. Many of the women that are famous icons on Instagram have bodies that have been modified with a lot of money put into themselves.
